5k
Well, today I did it. I ran (mostly walked) 5k. I didn’t really set out to do it, I just kind of happened. This past week or two I have been working out an hour each day instead of my normal 30-40min. So when I went to the bike trail today I decided I would walk/run for 30min out and 30min back. When I was all done, I realized I did over 3.3 miles in about 55min. (5k = 3.1 miles) I certainly did not set any land speed records, but I feel really great about it. I am still struggling with shin splints, that is the main thing holding me back right now. I certainly have the energy to run faster and longer, but the fear of injury keeps me from doing too much. Since I am also using my new Nike+, I can share my results with everyone. Here is today’s run:
