Triathlon maybe?

Posted by:Chad at 9:10 pm on Monday, June 7, 2010

Not too many updates. We had Rib Fest and the Ren Fest, both were fun. I am now in the market for a Bicycle to add to my cross-training. I am sick of using the the one in the gym. Too boring. My running is still going very well and I am considering adding a Triathlon to my list of goals. But I would need to find a place to train for the swimming. This would also most likely involve changing gyms, which I am not looking forward too. But I need a pool and my current gym doesn’t have one. I still want to get a 10k done first, so the Triathlon will have to wait until next year at least.

My fastest 5k yet.

Today was the Tulip Festival 5k. I managed to run the entire thing without taking a single walk break, which is a first for me. I also set a personal best time of 31:20. I was hoping to get a sub 30:00 time, but didn’t get it.

The Tulip Festival itself was pretty fun. We watched the parade, saw a lot of wooden shoes and soaked up a lot of Dutch culture along the way. Click on the picture to see all the photos I got that day.

Avera Race Against Breast Cancer

Avera 5k

Did the Avera Race Against Breast Cancer today. I ran the 5k. My time was a little slower than I would have liked, but I still had fun. Nicole and I were both on the We Build Champions team for Tryon Gym. Got a few nice shirts and saw a lot of people we knew there. Next week is the Tulip Festival 5k. I am hoping the weather will be nicer for that. This morning it was just a little above freezing. I did not expect to break out my winter running gear again.

Minnesota Wild Part 2

Posted by:Chad at 10:42 pm on Sunday, April 11, 2010

This weekend I drove to the Cities again and saw the last Minnesota Wild game of the season. Minnesota Wild Game
This time I was smart and got a hotel room instead of trying to go up and back in the same day. My ticket was on the glass and totally worth the extra cost.

They played Dallas and lost in overtime, but it was a really great game anyway. I posted a few pictures on my Flickr Account. Along with some pictures I took along the way such as the Jolly Green Giant in Blue Earth that I had no idea existed. Sunday morning I also went to see the Dead Sea Scrolls as the Science Museum. Another really good exhibit, I would highly recommend it.

St Patty’s Day 5k

Posted by:Chad at 11:42 pm on Sunday, March 14, 2010

The St Patty’s Day run went great! I recorded my fasted 5k at 33:13. It would have been faster but about 1 mile from the finish my back got really sore and I had to walk more than I would have liked. I still had plenty of energy to keep running. Luckily the pain did not last too long and I got back to running.
The weather was pretty good too, a little chilly but not too bad. A lot of the snow around here is starting to melt and we had a few we spots along the path that we had to go around. In all, a great run!

St Patty’s Day 5k

This Saturday I have my next 5k race. The St. Patty’s Day Mile. So far it looks like its going to be sunny and one of the warmest days so far this Winter. With everything melting, I am really looking forward to this run! It should be a nice easy run through our downtown bike trail. Click on the picture for a closer view of the trail.

After the race we are planning on seeing the new Alice in Wonderland Movie. I am guessing it will be very nice to sit for a couple hours after this run.
